Underfloor heating systems are increasingly popular and we have considerable experience in laying wood floors in this environment.
All wood products will react to extremes of heat and moisture and it is the stabilisation of both before laying a floor which ensures minimum movement later on. Underfloor heating should give a constant heat all year round and all our adhesives and fixings etc are designed to work in these conditions.
There two basic methods, hot water pipes laid in a sand and cement screed, and electric mats laid directly to the substrate. We lay wooden floors over both systems.
We sell two electric products, one 240 volt and the other 12 volt
The Flexel Ecofilm Set is an ultra thin 240 volt primary heat source mat manufactured in the UK. And can be used under any wooden floor
Because it is low-volt, the Stepwarm Floor system can be laid in any room in the house - including bathrooms (see right) and in the US, where it is made, it is often used to heat external areas subject to snow.
